Arctic Cruises

Arctic Cruises

An Arctic cruise is an awe-inspiring experience, considered a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many. Often defined as the area within the Arctic Circle, the unspoiled territory of the Arctic encompasses parts of Canada, Norway, Greenland, Iceland and Russia, and cruises here offer an up-close look at snowcapped mountains, deep fjords and gigantic ice sheets. You may encounter remarkable wildlife, including polar bears, arctic foxes, walruses, reindeer and whales, plus a wonderful variety of birds. Experience the midnight sun in Longyearbyen, explore the rugged coastline of Bear Island and take in the majestic landscapes of Spitsbergen.

  • The Arctic cruise season runs from May through September.
  • Arctic cruises are typically 7 to 16 nights in length, but may be longer.
  • Some Arctic cruises depart from major European capitals such as London, Amsterdam Copenhagen or Oslo, although most leave from lesser-known cities in Norway. If you need to fly a long distance to reach your port of departure, we suggest that you arrive at the port city at least one or two days in advance. A pre-cruise hotel package will give you time to rest and get oriented before your Arctic cruise.
